This training activity aims to increase the knowledge and understanding of 10th grade students majoring in Pharmacy at SMK Bhakti Wiyata on how to process herbal medicine properly according to the principles of sanitation and food safety, especially sour turmeric herbal medicine. Good and correct herbal medicine processing can maintain the active substances contained in it so that it can support oral health. The training was held on June 14, 2025 through counseling methods, hands-on practice, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test. A total of 18 students were actively involved in the entire series of activities. The training materials included the introduction of herbal raw materials, hygienic processing techniques, selection of appropriate packaging, the importance of maintaining the quality and safety of herbal products, and the benefits of herbal medicine on oral health. Evaluation results showed that the average score had increased from 88.33 to 89.39 after the training. Respondents' understanding of the drying process and how to choose the right packaging improved. This activity also provided participants with hands-on experience in the herbal medicine making process. The training was overall successful in increasing students' awareness and insight into the importance of hygiene and quality in herbal medicine processing, as well as its benefits for oral health, although there were some factors that caused the scores to drop. It is hoped that this activity will help students learn about food safety in the workplace and in everyday life.
