Abstract

Greening activities in the village office environment are one of the efforts to improve environmental quality and optimize the use of vacant land to become more productive. This community service activity aims to beautify the environment of Randuagung Village Office, Sumberjambe District, Jember Regency, increase green space, and utilize vacant land through the planting of ornamental and horticultural plants. The implementation method consisted of several stages, including site observation, coordination, land and seedling preparation, planting activities, and initial monitoring. The plants used consisted of ornamental plants, namely lohamsung (Podocarpus macrophyllus), asoka (Ixora coccinea), variegated kedongdong (Spondias dulcis), and agave (Agave sp.), as well as horticultural plants including chili, mustard greens, tomato, red ginger, cucumber melon, lettuce, leek, and water spinach. The results showed that the greening program successfully transformed vacant land into a greener, more organized area with aesthetic and productive values. This activity also provided education about the importance of sustainable land utilization and environmental conservation. The greening program at Randuagung Village Office is expected to become a simple example of environmentally friendly and sustainable management of village public spaces.
