JURNAL BIOSHELL first received its p-ISSN: 2301-4105. This journal has its focus and scope on Biology and Biology Education, published by the Biology Education Study Program at Islamic University of Jember. This journal is published once a year starting in May 2012, containing 7 articles. Starting from Volume 4, Issue 1 (2015), the focus and scope of this journal have been expanded to include Biology, Biology Education, and Science Education. Volumes 1 to 4 were published in print. Starting from Volume 5 No. 1 (2016), JURNAL BIOSHELL is published online. Since Volume 8, Issue 1 (2019) JURNAL BIOSHELL have increased the frequency of publication to twice a year. JURNAL BIOSHELL publications are published in April and October. Starting from Volume 8, Issue 1 (2019) JURNAL BIOSHELL have made changes to the management side of the journal management which includes updating the JURNAL BIOSHELL editorial team. JURNAL BIOSHELL is certified SINTA 5 in Volumes 8, Issue 1 (2019) through 11 Issue 2 (2022). In Volume 11, Issue 1, which is April 2022, this Journal template has changed as well as the publishing model. Previously, all articles were published every 25th in April and October. Currently, it has changed to being published in April and October. In addition, JURNAL BIOSHELL also accepts articles in English or Indonesian. In Volume 12, Issue 1 (2023), JURNAL BIOSHELL has been accredited SINTA 4.
