Submission

Authors are required to register and log in to the journal’s online submission system before submitting a manuscript. All submissions must be made electronically through the Educazione website. Before submission, authors should ensure that their manuscripts comply with the journal’s focus and scope, ethical standards, manuscript template, and author guidelines.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to confirm their manuscript’s compliance with all the following requirements. Submissions that do not comply with these requirements may be returned to the authors or declined without external review.

  1. The manuscript is original, has not been formally published, and is not under consideration by another journal. Any previous dissemination of the work, including conference papers or preprints, has been disclosed to the editor.
  2. The manuscript has a direct and substantive connection to teaching and learning, guidance and counseling, or educational and developmental psychology related to learner development.
  3. The submission is an original research article or a systematic review article. Narrative reviews, opinion papers, and purely descriptive literature reviews are not considered.
  4. The manuscript is written in clear and academically appropriate English. An original research article should contain approximately 6,000–8,000 words, while a systematic review article should contain approximately 7,000–9,000 words, including the abstract, main text, tables, figure captions, and references but excluding supplementary materials.
  5. The manuscript has been prepared using the official Educazione manuscript template and submitted in Microsoft Word format (.docx).
  6. The manuscript has been anonymized for double-blind peer review. Authors’ names, affiliations, acknowledgments, and other identifying information have been removed from the manuscript and its file properties.
  7. Complete information for all authors has been entered into the OJS metadata, including full names, institutional affiliations, countries, email addresses, and ORCID identifiers where available. One author has been designated as the corresponding author.
  8. The manuscript includes an abstract of 200–250 words and four to six relevant keywords. The abstract clearly presents the purpose, methods, principal findings, and conclusion of the study.
  9. Original research articles follow an appropriate research-reporting structure. Systematic review articles employ transparent and reproducible methods for literature searching, screening, eligibility assessment, quality appraisal, and evidence synthesis and follow PRISMA 2020 or another relevant reporting guideline where applicable.
  10. Research involving human participants has complied with applicable ethical standards. Information regarding ethical approval, informed consent, participant assent, or exemption from ethical review is reported where relevant.
  11. The manuscript includes or is accompanied by the required declarations concerning author contributions, funding, conflicts of interest, data availability, acknowledgments, and the use of generative artificial intelligence or AI-assisted technologies.
  12. Citations and references follow the seventh edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA 7th edition). References are relevant and predominantly drawn from current peer-reviewed scholarly journals. DOI links are provided in the https://doi.org/ format whenever available.
  13. All tables, figures, instruments, and other copyrighted materials are original or used with appropriate permission and attribution. Tables and figures are placed near their first mention in the manuscript and are referred to in the text.
  14. All listed authors have reviewed and approved the submitted manuscript, agreed to its submission to Educazione, and accepted responsibility for the integrity of the work.

Author Guidelines

The following information provides a summary of the principal submission requirements. Authors must consult the Full Author Guidelines and use the official Manuscript Template before submitting their manuscripts.

Manuscript Types

Educazione publishes original research articles and systematic review articles within the fields of teaching and learning, guidance and counseling, and educational and developmental psychology related to learner development.

Original research articles constitute the primary type of article published in each issue. They must present original empirical findings supported by a clear theoretical foundation, an appropriate research design, rigorous data analysis, and a substantive discussion of their contribution to the field.

Systematic review articles must address a clearly formulated research question and employ transparent, systematic, and reproducible methods. They must critically synthesize a sufficient body of relevant and current literature, identify knowledge gaps, and offer an original theoretical, methodological, or practical contribution. A manuscript that merely summarizes previous studies without systematic procedures and critical synthesis will not be considered.

Initial Editorial Assessment

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to evaluate their conformity with the journal’s focus and scope, scholarly quality, originality, methodological adequacy, ethical requirements, language quality, and compliance with the manuscript template. Manuscripts are also screened for textual similarity.

A manuscript may be declined without external review when it falls outside the journal’s scope, lacks sufficient originality or scholarly contribution, employs an inadequate method, does not comply with ethical standards, or fails to meet the journal’s essential submission requirements.

Peer-Review Process

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial assessment are evaluated by at least two independent reviewers through a double-blind peer-review process. The identities of the authors and reviewers are concealed from each other to support an impartial and academically responsible evaluation.

The reviewers assess the manuscript’s originality, theoretical foundation, methodological rigor, quality of analysis, clarity of presentation, relevance to the journal’s scope, and contribution to the advancement of knowledge and evidence-based educational practices. The final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection rests with the editorial team.

Research Integrity and Ethical Declarations

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality, accuracy, and integrity of their work. Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, undisclosed conflicts of interest, and other forms of research or publication misconduct are prohibited.

The use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies must be disclosed transparently in accordance with the journal’s Generative AI Policy. AI tools cannot be listed as authors and cannot replace the authors’ responsibility for the accuracy, originality, confidentiality, and integrity of the manuscript.

Authors conducting research involving human participants, particularly children or other potentially vulnerable participants, must comply with applicable ethical standards and clearly report the procedures used to protect participants’ rights, welfare, privacy, and confidentiality.
