Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Jurnal Educazione : Jurnal Pendidikan, Pembelajaran, dan Bimbingan dan Konseling is a national journal published twice a year, both in print and online, by the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Islamic University of Jember, Indonesia, in collaboration with peer reviewers.

This statement outlines the ethical behaviour expected of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, the editorial team, peer reviewers, and the publisher.

Ethical Guidelines for Publication

The publication of an article in Jurnal Educazione : Jurnal Pendidikan, Pembelajaran, dan Bimbingan dan Konseling is an essential process in the development of a coherent and respected body of knowledge. It directly reflects the quality of the authors' work and the supporting institutions.

Peer-reviewed articles uphold and embody the scientific method. Therefore, it is crucial to agree upon ethical standards for all parties involved in the publishing process, including authors, journal editors, reviewers, publishers, and the broader community.

The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Islamic University of Jember, as the publisher of Jurnal Educazione : Jurnal Pendidikan, Pembelajaran, dan Bimbingan dan Konseling, takes its duties of guardianship over all stages of publishing seriously and recognizes its ethical and other responsibilities.

The institution ensures that advertising, reprint revenues, or other commercial interests do not influence editorial decisions. It also facilitates communication with other journals and publishers where necessary and appropriate.

Publication Decisions

Editors are responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published. Validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers must guide such decisions. Editors are guided by the journal's editorial policies and constrained by legal requirements related to libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors may confer with other editors or reviewers in making these decisions.

Fair Play

All submitted manuscripts are evaluated fairly based on established service standards (SOP) and handled professionally without regard to authors' race, gender, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.

Confidentiality

Editors and administrative staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial advisers, and the publisher.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used by editors or any editorial board members for their own research purposes without the explicit written consent of the author

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer reviews assist editors in making editorial decisions and may also help authors improve their manuscripts.

Timeliness

All submitted manuscripts will be reviewed by reviewers selected by the editor according to their area of expertise, within a period of two (2) weeks to one (1) month.

Authors will receive a decision from the editor within a maximum of four (4) months from the date of submission.

Confidentiality of Review

All manuscripts received for review are treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.

Standards of Objectivity

Reviewers must conduct reviews objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments and constructive feedback to improve the manuscript.

Citations and References

Authors must properly acknowledge the work of others. References to influential publications relevant to the work must be included

Reporting Standards

Authors of manuscripts must present an accurate account of the work performed and an objective discussion of its significance.

The manuscript must contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work.

Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behaviour and are unacceptable.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication

Manuscripts under review and not yet formally rejected must not be submitted for consideration to other journals simultaneously
